SW&B was founded in 1985. Born of the Pulp and Paper industry, SW&B initially focused on general contracting services to Pulp and Paper clients and soon became recognized as one of the country’s leaders in all phases of pulp and paper mill construction including new installations, retrofits and maintenance programs.  After establishing itself as a premier pulp and paper contractor, SW&B began diversifying into other industry sectors in the late 1990’s and on into the millennium. The skills required for pulp and paper projects proved to be an excellent fit for construction work in other areas such as chemicals, power, non woven, home care and building products. The results of this diversification were extremely successful and SW&B sales increased dramatically.  Today, SW&B continues to support our Pulp and Paper clients while also building our resume in these other industries. We have completed over 200 heavy industrial projects in the past 15 years and have developed a reputation for running clean, safe, drug free and productive projects.

SW&B is a full merit shop industrial contractor, we offer expertise in all major disciplines – civil structural, mechanical, piping, electrical and instrumentation.

In 1996 SW&B was purchased by BE&K, Inc. and operates as a wholly owned subsidiary. Our offices are in Auburn, Maine and Daphne, Alabama.
